A friend of mine, he is a photographer that is only on his beginning stage of learning. The method of his learning is by taking more and more digital photo, and take notes any weakness or things need to be improve as and when he took the shoot. What he does not have is simply data rescue software to go along with his photograph hobby.
He did not care about this weakness in the first place and keep focusing on how to improve his skill of taking shoots. The problem occurred when one day after a long day of shoots in many areas, he went back home and attempt to move the storing disk content of his camera into his personal computer for his editing and review task.
Once he moved them, it was almost 600 photo(s), he deleted the files inside his camera storing media to free up a space. He still did not have a data rescue at that time. Then the disaster came. When he ran some kind of extraction process inside his personal computer, suddenly, the light comes black out. To add it even worse, he did not even have UPS on his personal computer.
When the light finally backs, he quickly run again his personal computer and only then he found out that the extraction process was failed and he has all his files inside corrupted just because of he did not have this data rescue, he could not do anything with it anymore.
