When your data can’t be opened or the data is corrupted by any causes, you don’t have to panic yet. Damaged or corrupted data can be recovered up to 90%. If your data were damaged or corrupted because of physical damage on the storage media, you need to have the storage media to be fixed first. Otherwise, your data will still not be able to be opened. There are some techniques in recovering data from this cause. First, you can try to have the broken hard disk to be repaired or replaced. After the broken part is removed, you can use a specialized disk-imaging procedure to save the data. Second, if the broken part were the hardware, you can replace the damaged Printed Circuit Board with similar healthy item to perform a live swap so that you can read or rewrite the data and move them to the healthy drive.

One tip to try if the computer couldn’t even run at all anymore is trying to turn off the computer, unplugged it, open the computer and remove the hard disk out of the cash. After that you should put the hard disk in a plastic bag and seal it very tight, if you could it’s better to use vacuum sealer to suck all of the air out from the bag and put it in the freezer. On the next day, you can reinstall the hard disk as quick as you can and then boot the computer from the floppy disk and copy to the new hard disk. It might work to save your data. You can try this technique at home.
